Dialogue on ‘Achieving SDG : Challenges of Environmental Degradation and Climate Change.’

Australia Alumni Association Bangladesh (AAAB) organized a dialogue on ‘Achieving SDG: Challenges of Environmental Degradation and Climate Change’ on 30 June, 2018. Facilitated by Dr. Md Khalid Hossain, Economic Justice Resilience Program Manager of Oxfam in Bangladesh, the dialogue has highlighted the challenges posed by climate change and environmental degradation on achieving sustainable development goals and possible way forward to overcome the challenges. AAAB members working on climate change and environmental issues joined the dialogue where four panel discussants with different backgrounds shared their expert opinions and interacted with AAAB members. The panel discussants were: 1. Dr. Salina Parvin Banu, Chief Scientific Officer and Head of Division, Plant Pathology Division of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI); 2. Dr. MahbubaNasreen, Director and Professor, Institute of Disaster Management and Vulnerability Studies of the University of Dhaka; 3. Mr. KhurshidAlam, Assistant Country Director of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP); and 4. Dr. Biswas KarabiFarhana, Professor, Department of Environmental Science and Management of North South University. Download full report.
